Common Questions
Is this a qualified solicitor?
CriminalAdvice provides legal guidance and information about your rights and the criminal process. For full regulated legal representation — for example at a Crown Court trial — you should instruct a solicitor authorised by the SRA. We help you understand your situation and what to expect.
What can I ask about?
Anything covered by criminal law in England and Wales — police interviews, bail, charges, court procedure, pleas, motoring offences, restraining orders, appeals, and more. We cannot assist with matters in Scotland or Northern Ireland which have separate legal systems.
What happens when I use my minutes?
Your call time resets at the start of each billing month. Unused minutes do not carry over. If you regularly need more time, simply upgrade to a higher tier from your account dashboard at any time.
Can I cancel?
Yes — cancel any time from your account dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees or lock-in contracts.
What if I've already been charged?
Yes — the AI agent can advise on what happens after charge, the charging process, what a first hearing looks like, plea considerations, and the difference between magistrates and Crown Court procedure.
Do you cover duty solicitor situations?
The AI agent can explain what the duty solicitor scheme is, your right to free independent legal advice at the police station under PACE 1984, and what to do if a duty solicitor isn't available. We strongly recommend always requesting a solicitor before any police interview.

Important: CriminalAdvice is an AI-powered legal information service. It is not a law firm and does not provide regulated legal advice within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007. It is not a solicitor authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. For formal legal representation — particularly in Crown Court proceedings or where your liberty is at risk — you should instruct a qualified solicitor. Legal aid may be available to you; call the Legal Aid Agency helpline or visit gov.uk/legal-aid to check your eligibility.
